Yes, I totally expected Logan to shot Beaver. However, in thinking about it some more, I don't think they can have him do that because its to far over the line. They present plenty of shades of gray, but I think that despite the ups and downs, Logan is intended to be who Veronica ends up with so they can't have him be a cold blooded killer. That's why Duncan had Aron shot-he's gone off the show and they can afford him to be a killer now.
