I sure wish Caleb Carr would go back to writing his alienist books. I loved both the original and the sequel, and I've been waiting patiently for years to get another, perhaps from the doctor's point of view.

I've never read his sci-fi books, but those I trust have, and never failed to give them disappointing reviews. Methinks he should stick with the past instead of butchering the future.
