To me, that is such a funny question. Snobbery? Community colleges? With regard to what, exactly, might they be snobbish?

CCs don't have the resources to devote to this kind of hand-holding because they're not funding it by ripping off their students. Additionally, it's not just a "supportive" enrollment process, it's a high-pressure and exploitative enrollment process, whose goal is to enroll students regardless of whether they will benefit financially or even intellectually from enrollment. So while CCs unquestionably could do better outreach to students in some ways, given support to do it, in many ways it would be a grave error for them to emulate the for-profit model.

Most people at for-profit schools, and not a small number at community colleges, are not ever going to reap meaningful benefit from the experience. No one wants to hear this or acknowledge that giving more people an educational credential will not actually make the number of jobs requiring that credential increase proportionally, but it's true. You can't overstate the haplessness of many of these students. While many of them have other strengths in life, they are utterly unprepared in every way to interact with the modern economy except as (effectively) serfs. As a class, they exist to be sweated by all the industries milking the poor. All "higher education" does is strap more debt onto them and make them more milkable from day one.
